Enrolment for non-beginners

You are non-beginner if you already speak or write some Danish.

Please click on the five steps below to see the enrolment process.

1.    DO YOU KNOW SOME DANISH?

If you speak a little Danish already, you have to come in for a placement test. It is important that you take the test so we can make sure that you are placed in the right class for your level.

You need to take a level test if you:

  • Can write or speak some Danish
  • Have had a break from Studieskolen for more than six weeks
  • Speak Swedish or Norwegian and have attended Danish before
  • Have attended another school and completed a module (you cannot be enrolled at more than one school).

2.    PLACEMENT TEST WITH OUR STUDENT ADVISOR

We have tests four times a week at Borgergade 12, 1300 Copenhagen K:

  • Monday and Tuesday at 14:00 and
  • Wednesday and Thursday at 10:15.

Please click here to see when you can take the placement test during the summer.

You just go to the reception. We have room for ten people and we recommend that you come in plenty of time. Remember that we do not open until 10am. You cannot book an appointment for the test.

If you have previously taken Danish lessons at another language school, please bring your Module Test Certificate or Intro Danish Certificate with you when you come and see our student advisor. Otherwise you cannot enrol at Studieskolen.

At the test you have to write a text and talk to the student advisor. How long the test lasts depends on how many students turn up for the test.

Please check the page 'student advisor' to see if there are any cancellations or changes.

If you cannot come to our open test, you have to make an appointment with the advisor. The student advisor is open late on Thursdays from 15:00 to 17:30.

Please call us on 33 18 79 00 Monday-Thursday between 10-16 or Fridays between 10-14 in order to book an appointment. It is not possible to book by email.

3.    WE APPLY FOR PAYMENT

We can apply for payment for your Danish lessons from the municipality you live in. When the municipality has approved the payment of your Danish course, we can send you an offer to start.

Please note that you cannot be registered at more than one school.

If you do not have a CPR number and an official address, you have to pay for the lessons yourself.

Read about payment and prices.

4.    WE OFFER YOU A COURSE BY E-MAIL

Once you have been tested and approved by the student advisor, you are put on a waiting list. If there is an available class at your level, we will send you an offer by email the week before the course starts.

We cannot send out offers earlier, since we have to enroll our active students first.

We send out offers in the order of our waiting list.

If you never have studied Danish before, you will have to pay a deposit of DKK 1,250. You will get the money back when you have completed your Danish education. Please read more about deposit here.

5.    YOU START AT STUDIESKOLEN

Once you have answered the e-mail, you will be placed in a class.

Shortly after, you will start your Danish class.
