Keep on learning Italian
This is the course for you if you took our beginners' Italian class in English and now you want to keep on learning, because you know that your trips to Italy are much better when you speak the language!

More conversations in Italian
Now that you know the essentials, you will learn more about the Italian people and their culture. At the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Ask and talk about what happened in the past, to you or somebody else

  • Talk about how you feel - maybe a bit sick? And where exactly does it hurt?

  • Talk about the food you like and dislike

  • Describe places, things and people more accurately

  • Say that you agree or disagree with somebody

  • Order food and drinks at an Italian bar

If you have already been to Italy you know that, for Italians, coffee is not just coffee! Now you will also learn the social rules of an Italian bar. For example, why is it so important for Italians to offer a coffee to each other? And how can you do the same?

You will also learn useful expressions that you can use if you are looking for a job in Italy - maybe in the future, during one of your trips?

In order for you to master these communicative functions, we will continue to work with basic grammar, especially present perfect. You will also learn direct and indirect pronouns, comparatives and superlatives and many new verbs and words.

The course is designed to encourage you to talk as much as possible and to learn to pronounce words correctly. To help you to speak Italian as fast as possible, your teacher will be speaking Italian most of the time. But she will explain grammar and other things in English.

You and your fellow students will practise and develop your Italian through role-playing and exercises that strengthen your ability to have a conversation. Discussions will be based on a variety of things such as pictures, texts, video clips and audio files, and many subjects such as food, travel and famous people.

Mafia, amore e polizia
Now that you have reached a higher level in Italian we will read an exciting easy-reader. The story is about a young German musician, Hans, and an Italian journalist, Francesca. Some violent things happen: a bomb destroys Museo degli Uffizi in Firenze, and the mafia kills some people in Napoli. What is happening and what is the relation between these events? Although it may sound tragic, the book is actually funny and enjoyable.
