Frank H. Lisborg

We have asked our teachers to recommend a place, some Danish music or a Danish artist. It could also be a building or a street. This is what Frank recommends.

What are your favourite places in or outside of Copenhagen?
”I have a favourite place in Copenhagen, namely Refshaleøen at the northern tip of Amager. This is where you can see the old harbour and feel the sea. We used to build ships here, and it was our window to the world.
Outside of Copenhagen I would recommend the lovely Odsherred in northern Zealand.”

What Danish artists or writers are you fond of?
”My favourite Danish artist is L.A. Ring. He made fantastic paintings from around 1890 until 1920. My favourite Danish writer is Jørn Riel. He has written about Greenland as well as other subjects. I think he is easy to read.
I have a couple of favourite Danish books: ’Vangedebilleder’ by Dan Turèll and ’Livsens ondskab’ by Gustav Wied.”
