Language Course in the centre of Copenhagen from 21 July to 9 August
Danish Language Summer Courses for international students studying Danish abroad
Learn Danish this summer!
Studieskolen’s intensive Danish language and culture summer course takes place from Sunday, July 21 to Friday, August 9, 2019.
Classes, activities and exams:
You will take a written and oral level placement test on arrival Sunday, July 21 so we can place you in the correct class. Classes range from beginner to advanced levels.
There will be four daily Danish language lessons Monday to Friday. Our experienced Danish language teachers all hold a university degree.
In the afternoons and evenings, you can participate in lectures on Danish language and culture, and we will organize a series of field trips, workshops and social events. See the programme here.
Studieskolen’s summer course is designed for students who have taken or are taking an education either in Denmark or in their home country and who learn languages easily. You will learn a lot in a short time and we will move forward quickly. Many students in the course are international students of Danish in their home countries, so the energy level and desire to learn is great in this course.
We have Danish language classes at five or six different levels to ensure that everyone in the Danish class is at the same level. This means that you can learn Danish quickly and efficiently, and afterwards you can focus on your study, work or interest in Danish language.
We teach all four language skills. In the classroom, we will focus on skills: listening skills and oral communication. Reading and writing skills are homework. You will read a variety of texts including authentic texts about people and Danish society, and you complete a variety of written assignments. We will talk about different experiences of life in Denmark. We will work on listening exercises, so you become even better at understanding Danish, and we will work intensively on pronunciation.
The teaching materials have been developed by teachers at Studieskolen, especially for Studieskolen's students. The materials consists of a course book, an online learning platform with audio and video materials, reading texts and often an exercise book. You will also find additional texts and exercises are available online. Each chapter contains dialogues, texts and grammar with related tasks and exercises. There are also tasks for all audio and video recordings.
The teaching material is included in the course price. Your teacher will give you the book in class, and you will have access to our online learning environment Moodle.
The summer course ends with an exam and we will issue diplomas to successful candidates on Friday, August 9. To receive a diploma you must participate in the course and pass the exam.
The course costs DKK 5,000, which includes lessons, lectures in the afternoon and social events in the evening.
If you applied for a scholarship and are a student from one of the countries or universities that cooperate with the Ministry of Higher Education and Science, but did not receive a scholarship, the course costs DKK 4,500.
