Jorun Joensen

We have asked our teachers to recommend a place in Copenhagen - or outside. A Danish artist or a favorite museum. This is what Jorun recommends.

Your favorite museum
"If you are looking for an alternative to the art museum Louisiana in Nordsjælland, you should go to Charlottenlund north of Copenhagen and visit the museum Ordrupgaard.
Ordrupgaard is a museum of French Impressionism and the Danish Golden Age with a fine collection of paintings by artists such as Monet, Gauguin, and Hammershøi in addition to the many temporary exhibitions.

The museum is scenically located within a lovely park where you can go for a walk.

Ordrupgaard also has something to offer if you are interested in architecture. An extension to the museum was thus designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, and it is also possible to visit the furniture designer Finn Juhl's house."
