A1.2 English for almost beginners/Engelsk for næsten begyndere
This course is for you if you have already taken the first half of our beginner level, a beginner course at another language school, or if you have previously spoken English and would like a brush up.
On the course, you will further improve your spoken English in everyday situations, for example, when you:
- Meet new people
- Eat at a restaurant
- Go shopping
You will also be able to recognise more words in English texts and conversations, so you will be able to talk about even more topics. For example, you will be able to talk about your family and your holidays and ask other people about their interests. At the same time, you will understand whether something is happening in the present or past.
Even though the primary focus is on speaking English, you will be able to write short texts like postcards after the course and we will also study some grammar.
We will study selected parts of the second half of the book, Navigate, the first half of which we finished during the first part of the beginner course. This means you will be able to continue to use the Oxford online skills programme and CD that accompany the book if you want extra practice outside the classroom. Your teacher will also supplement the course book material with interesting communication activities where you can practice your conversation skills in various situations.
Preparation time: approx. 1-2 hours.
Navigate A1 Beginner Coursebook with DVD and Oxford Online Skills (Oxford University Press) ISBN 978-0194566230. You should buy the book before the start of the course. You can either buy the book online at www.academicbooks.dk or at their shop:

The book includes access to an online skills programme and CD for self-study outside the classroom. In addition, the book can be projected onto the whiteboard so you and the other students will typically follow the teaching there as well as looking in your own book.
