C1 Advanced Conversation for Fluency
Speak English fluently and pronounce the words correctly
This course is for you if you are already at an advanced but would like to progress even further by broadening your vocabulary and learning how to pronounce English correctly. Perhaps you have not used your English for some time and you need to boost your confidence or brush up your skills.
We will discuss topics in much more depth than at the previous levels. For example, instead of just talking about what sort of art we like, we might discuss how you decide whether something is art, and who makes the decision.
The topics will be selected according to what you and the other students would like to talk about, but we usually discuss some of the following subjects: art, drugs and society, culture shock and consumerism.
As well as learning many new words on the course, there will also be a focus on pronunciation, such as syllables and word stress, and you will learn some new techniques for pronouncing the language correctly. For example, where you should position your tongue in your mouth and how you should use your throat in order to pronounce the words like a native.
This is not a grammar course, but your teacher will explain any grammatical mistakes you make as they can prevent you from holding a fluent and accurate conversation. Extra material focused on improving your grammar can be provided for self-study if necessary.
Some lessons will be based on role-plays, where you will work together in groups to solve a particular task. These fun lessons have been developed by the teachers to get you to talk together as much as possible.
Preparation time: approx. 1-2 hours.
You do not need to buy a book for this course. Your teacher will select suitable material, which is included in the price.
