B1+ Everyday English - Mini Intensive
Practise everyday English intensively twice a week
This intermediate intensive course is for you if you wish to broaden your vocabulary and become more confident when expressing yourself. You will learn to cope in most communication situations that might arise whilst travelling or working. On this intensive course, you become more fluent when speaking to new people.
This could be when having more in-depth conversations about:
- Personal achievements
- Work life balance
You also learn language that helps you handle practical everyday situations such as asking for and giving opinions, comparing and recommending, giving a talk, agreeing and disagreeing or making enquiries.
The primary focus is that you become better at speaking English, but you will also be given some short written assignments for homework. Each class involves dedicated speaking tasks to help you gain confidence and take risks when speaking. Most lessons also involve studying some grammar to give you a framework on which to build the language. Real students feature throughout the student book and are featured responding to discussion questions in mobile-friendly videos that you can watch outside the classroom. These activities also include fun mobile bite-sized learning activities. If you are busy, "Practice Extra" enables you to do your homework on smartphones, tablets, or computers outside of class.
The course focuses on all the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
As we will be meeting twice a week and there will also be homework, you will be practising your English nearly every day, which means you will get into a totally different rhythm than if you had only been going to English classes once per week.
There are 14 teaching sessions on the course. Each session is 3 lessons. You will join the second half of the course, which started in February. We will study chapters 7-12 of the coursebook.
Evolve Level 4 Student's Book with Practice Extra 2019 (Cambridge University Press), ISBN 9781108405324 . You should buy the book before the start of the course. You can either buy the book online at www.academicbooks.dk or at their shop:
