Neurodidactics and Language Learning
Lecture and Workshop

Habilitated Professor Dr. Marion Grein is Director of the Master's Program in German as a Foreign Language at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.
The focus of her work is research into language teaching (neuro-didactics), intercultural communication, as well as the use, deployment and effectiveness of multimedia and e-learning. She is currently researching learning processes in older learners, the influence of emotions on learning and the special role of music in language learning. In addition, she is particularly concerned with the field of literacy.
Neurodidactics, a relatively new interdisciplinary research field, represents an interface between neuroscience, didactics, educational science and psychology. It is based on the findings of brain research and provides proposals for effective (brain-based) learning and teaching. Yet, neurodidatic research shows that there is no unique, singular, “one-and-only” effective brain-based way of teaching or learning.
In the first section, the basics of the language learning process will be outlined and related to the deployment of potentially effective means of facilitating language learning. Within the second section, we will take a look at textbooks and how these neurodidatic demands have been implemented. And, finally, we will try out some specific brain-based language tasks.
Time: August 28, 2015, 15:30 - 18:30
Venue: Studieskolen, Borgergade 12, 1300 Copenhagen K

Entrance is free, but please sign up by email: no later than August 24th.
The lecture is in English.

Everybody is welcome!
