"The best thing about Copenhagen is the wide pavements all over the city. They invite you to move from A to B on foot and to stroll without a destination. Strolling means walking at a slow and comfortable pace.
And that’s exactly what you should do on the broad pavements of Dronning Louises Bro between Nørreport and Nørrebro. Take a coffee break in a sunny spot on the bridge, then continue slowly along Nørrebrogade towards Assistens Kirkegård (the cemetery), where you can wander around and say hello to several famous Danes who are buried there. You can also lie down on the grass, perhaps under a tree, look up at the sky, and let your thoughts drift away."
What about outside Copenhagen? Do you have a good tip?
"If you want to leave the city, I would absolutely recommend going to 'Rusland' near Dronningmølle in Nordsjælland. You’ll probably need a car.
Rusland is a magical place - a protected hilly heathland with small paths where the sculptor Rudolph Tegner’s mighty marble and bronze statues of men and women tower towards the Kattegat. It is dramatic, bombastic and utterly peaceful all at the same time. Yes, magical.
If you feel like it, you can also step inside the Tegner Museum, which is built entirely of raw concrete with an 11-metre-high ceiling. The museum itself is a fantastic, church-like space, and with Tegner’s enormous sculptures, it is a truly sensory experience to move around and take it all in. It really is magical."
