Tanja Ettin

We have asked our teachers if they can recommend a place or an activity in or outside Copenhagen. Tanja recommends several places that are great if you have children.

Do you have any favourite places in Copenhagen that are suitable if you have children?
"I spend a lot of my free time with my four-year-old son, Leo, and we've practically become experts at finding great, free places in Copenhagen where both children and adults can have fun together.

On a grey day, we recommend a visit to one of the city's many libraries, such as Hovedbiblioteket (the Main Library) in Krystalgade, which has a huge children's area where kids can not only find great books but also play and run around - while the adults enjoy a coffee from the library café.

On sunny days, you could visit Tårnlegepladsen (the Tower Playground) in Fælledparken, which has slides and water play for everyone. Or you could take the train to Klampenborg, where Dyrehaven offers exciting experiences all year round. Some of our favourites include playing animal bingo (we bring our own "bingo cards" with pictures of various animals), flying a kite on a windy day, and sledging if we’re lucky enough to get some snow.

One last favourite spot is Bastard Brætspilcafé (a board game café), where you can find almost every board game you can imagine while enjoying a big hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows!"
