TOEFL iBT®

TOEFL iBT® is a computer based language test that measures your ability to use and understand English at university level. TOEFL is recognized in many parts of the world as evidence of a candidate's academic English skills.

If you cannot register for a test on the dates that we indicate are available, it is because our seats are not for sale by TOEFL at present. We are in constant dialogue with TOEFL to ensure that available seats are for sale.

Location: The test will take place at Studieskolen, Borgergade 14, 1300 København K. Tests taking place at other venues are not held by Studieskolen.

What is a TOEFL test?
The test evaluates how well you combine listening, reading, speaking and writing skills to perform academic tasks. The TOEFL iBT® test will take just under 2 hours to complete. However, please set aside approximately 3 hours due to check-in procedures.

3. Speaking

  • 16 minutes.
  • 4 tasks

  • You can register for the TOEFL test online at ETS where you will need to create an account.

  • You can reschedule or cancel your booking up to four full days before the test. Any changes to your registration must be made through your user account at ETS. Please note that you will be charged a fee to reschedule or cancel your booking.

  • You will be able to see your result online on your ETS account 4 -8  days after the test, if you take the test at Studieskolen.

    Please note that major American holidays might influence the result release date.

  • You will receive an email when your results are ready. You can access them by logging in to your user account at ETS.

  • A TOEFL test is valid for two years.
  • Depending on your needs, you can either attend a preparatory class or use online study materials.

  • Before the test:
    Please arrive at the test centre at least 30 minutes before the scheduled test time.
    When you arrive, you will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and we will take your photo and you have to do a voice sample. We will also check your identification documents.
    You will be taken to your test station and the test will begin.
    Identification documents are the only personal items you are allowed to have in the testing room. Please do not bring anything else.

    During the test:
    The test takes just under two hours. There is no break.
    Keep an eye on your progression so you can finish each section within the time limit. The computer is the official timekeeper.
    Scratch paper will be provided and must be returned at the end of the test.

  • The price of TOEFL tests and services is set by ETS.org.

  • If you need to apply for disability accommodations for the test, please do so before registering for the test. The process takes approximately six weeks.
