Our knitting club is back - join us for hygge and knitting
We?re bringing back our popular and cosy knitting club!

If you love to knit - or if you?ve just started - come along to a lovely knitting evening at Studieskolen in Borgergade.
We have needles as well as yarn, but if you?re already working on a knitting project, feel free to bring it with you. You?re also very welcome even if you?ve never knitted before. You?ll get a proper introduction - and hopefully enjoy some pleasant conversation along the way.

The event will be in both Danish and English.

It?s free, but you need to sign up in advance.

It takes place:
Thursday 27 November 2025 from 17:00 to 19:00
Studieskolen, Borgergade 12

All Studieskolen?s students are welcome - whether you?re learning Danish or another language.

Anne Juul Sønderskov

Anne recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
”I was born and raised in Frederiksberg, and after some years abroad, that is where I once again live. For that reason, a lot of my favourite places are in this part of town. I am particularly fond of The Horticultural Garden ('Landbohøjskolens Have'), which is now a part of the University of Copenhagen. It has many gorgeous flowers and trees all year round, and you can practise their names in Danish (or Latin!) as they are all on display. And should you fancy some sustenance after all the colourful impressions, there is also a good café in one of the garden’s greenhouses.”

Who is your favourite Danish writer?
”I studied Middle Eastern studies at university, which gave me a penchant for the story of Danish-German surveyor and explorer, Carsten Niebuhr. Thorkild Hansen has written a wonderful book about the research expedition to ’Det lykkelige Arabien’ (Arabia Felix), which Niebuhr took part in in the 1700s. It is a dramatic tale full of trials, adventure and great discoveries. The book contains many quotes from Carsten Niebuhr’s travel journals and drawings made by participants during the journey, all of which makes the story come even more alive.”

Eva Leotta

Eva recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
“My favourite place in Copenhagen is Vesterbro. I particularly love this neighbourhood because it contains so many different things. Vesterbro has little cosy bars as well as clubs, pubs, cafes and lots of little specialty shops. I love the atmosphere and always feeling like you’re right in the middle of the city. Furthermore, Vesterbro is also (according to me) the place where you’ll find the best ramen and the best rolls with butter and cheese.”

Do you have a favourite place outside Copenhagen?
“I grew up in Northern Zealand and lived there my entire childhood, and that’s why that is my favourite place outside of the city. Northern Zealand has beautiful nature, and you’re always close to the woods as well as the water. Two places that I think are worth a visit are Dyrehaven and Bellevue Strand.”

What’s your favourite kind of music?
“I think that my favourite Danish duo is Nik & Jay. They are good for younger and older generations alike, and they have taken up a lot of space on the Danish music scene over the last 20 years. I believe that their single ’Hot’ can get most people on the dancefloor.”
