Studieskolen, Borgergade 12, lokale 101

Bemærk venligst, at denne begivenhed er for vores danskkursister.

Feel more at home in Danish work culture
Learning to speak Danish doesn't necessarily mean mastering how to integrate into Danish work culture.
It can be challenging to grasp the unwritten rules, norms and expectations that characterise working life in Denmark. What does it really mean when people say that it is a flat hierarchy, or that responsibility is shared?
Danish workplaces are often defined by a high degree of trust, independence and openness. But how does that actually work in practice, especially if you join with a different cultural background?
Join our workshop on Danish work culture, where Danish teacher and MA in Culture and Business Communication, Charlotte Kaare-Gonçalves, will guide you through the key features of how people work and communicate in Denmark.
You will gain practical insights into what to be aware of as someone new to the Danish job market. You will also have the chance to challenge your own assumptions and expectations about working in Denmark.
The workshop is both informative and interactive, and it will equip you with tools to help you feel more confident and secure when interacting with Danish colleagues, managers and workplaces.
The workshop will be conducted in English, and all Danish language students at Studieskolen are warmly welcome - regardless of your current level.

It is free, but you have to sign up in advance.

It takes place:
Monday 15 September 2025 from 16:30 to 18:00
Studieskolen, Borgergade 12, room 101

Charlotte recommends:
Do you have a favourite place outside of Copenhagen?
"Roskilde is a fantastic city! It’s one of the oldest cities in Denmark and contains a lot of cultural history. It’s also located next to Roskilde Fjord, which is known for its beautiful paths and wildlife. All while being only a 25-minute train ride away from Copenhagen.
For those interested in history, there is the Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum by the harbour. But for those interested in culture, I recommend a visit to Musicon, which is an area full of container homes, graffiti and unique shops. Here you might find your next recycled gem in the shop Om-klædning. There’s also the magnificent rock museum RAGNAROCK, which is shaped like a gigantic electric guitar."
