Studieskolen, Borgergade 12

Bemærk venligst, at denne begivenhed er for vores danskkursister.

Improve Your Danish with Poems and Poetry

Poems and poetry issomething truly special. They use few words to say a lot, and they are great at creating reflection, evoking emotions, and offering new perspectives - even when the language is simple. That’s why poems are a fantastic way to learn Danish.

At our literature café, you’ll listen to readings of poems that are easy to understand and exciting to discuss. You’ll gain insight into what the poems mean and how you experience them yourself. Together, we’ll talk about what each of us gets out of poetry, which new Danish expressions we learn, and how we can use them. You’ll also try to write your own poem in Danish.

Come and experience how poetry can make the Danish language come alive and make it easier to understand, and how poems can open new doors to both the language and the culture.

You don’t need any prior knowledge of Danish poetry. The conversation will take place in both Danish and English, so everyone can join regardless of level.

Studieskolen’s Literature Café Each semester, we welcome you our literature cafés with different themes, where we read and discuss Danish authors and texts.
You’ll meet other students, gain new perspectives, and find inspiration to use Danish in a new way.

It’s free, but you need to register in advance.

Event details:

Ina Sophia Ring

Ina recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
”Denmark doesn’t have any mountains, and I know that can be disappointing. However, you can still get a little above ground level in Copenhagen – for example at the Zoo on Frederiksberg, which has a tower with a good view, as has the Church of Our Saviour on Christianshavn.
In the more exotic corner, there is also a refuse incineration plant that you can climb on top of – namely Copenhill.”

Do you have a favourite place outside of Copenhagen?
”Outside of Copenhagen, I recommend visiting the Forest Tower (’Skovtårnet’) on southern Zealand or going for a walk among the treetops at Egeskov Castle on Funen.
In the picture, I’m walking through the forest toward the Forest Tower in my snowsuit (‘flyverdragt’), which is wonderful protection against the wet cold of Danish winters.”
