Why our students choose Studieskolen: “It’s the best language teaching and the highest level in Copenhagen”

December 15, 2025

The 2025 evaluations from our students learning foreign languages point to high quality, committed teachers and strong progression. From beginners to fluent speakers – and from Japanese and Greenlandic to Italian. We would like to say a big thank you to all our students for your engagement, honest feedback and enthusiasm for learning. We look forward to continuing the journey with you in 2026.

Ambitious teaching and a professional setting

First and foremost, you agree that Studieskolen delivers teaching that truly makes a difference. The framework is professional and the level is high. “With Studieskolen, quality teaching is guaranteed,” as one of you writes.

Several of you highlight that the school offers the opportunity to learn languages at a serious level: “Studieskolen is the place to go if you want to learn foreign languages at an academic level.” For many, it is precisely this seriousness that makes the difference: “Professional and modern language school” and “…five stars to the administration for friendly customer service.”

High praise for teachers – and fellow students!

The teaching is ambitious, the teachers are highly skilled, and you can feel your progress from one session to the next. Every single week, you speak more of the language you are studying. Dedicated teachers and fellow students create a safe and inspiring learning environment: “I look forward to attending every time and enjoy getting better at the language week by week. It’s so good!” writes one of you.

Another says: “When my teacher enters the classroom, she gives the impression that that day’s topic is the most exciting of all. It is wonderful and inspiring to meet a teacher who is highly qualified, smiling and well prepared.”

Much of the praise also goes to the teachers’ pedagogical skills and their ability to vary the teaching. Many highlight the mix of conversation, exercises, games, news and culture – all carefully planned and professional: “It is always fun to attend German classes at Studieskolen. A good mix of games, conversation and exercises – never dry or boring.”

Some of you have been with us for many years – one student writes that she has attended the same French class for around 14 years. That says something about both quality and community. Others also mention meeting new language enthusiasts in their class: “Qualified teacher and interesting fellow students who contribute a wide range of knowledge.”

It is important for the learning environment that both teachers and students help create a positive atmosphere together: “Skilled teachers, good atmosphere, pleasant participants. Excellent value for money.”

Many of you have truly embraced online teaching: “I signed up for my first course during the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, I have continued without interruption in the years that followed,” one student writes in the evaluation.

Online teaching offers flexibility

Many of you highlight how beneficial it has been that Studieskolen offers online courses. Of course, it is essential that the technology works well and that the quality of teaching is not compromised: “Well organised. Works brilliantly online.”

For some, it is a matter of saving time and transport; for others, being able to continue classes despite travelling or living far from Copenhagen: “I am very happy with online teaching – I use the time I save on transport to prepare.”

Several of you also mention that small online groups provide calm and focus, and one student elaborates on their satisfaction with having fewer participants on online courses: “Please keep the small online classes!”

Studieskolen also offers online language tests helping you find the course that suits you best. As one student says: “I was helped to find the right course in connection with a language test, and that was a very good idea.”

Community and culture as driving forces

The social aspect features strongly in the evaluations. You appreciate not only the teaching, but also the cultural events – such as talks, film screenings and language cafés – which make Studieskolen attractive: “Highly skilled and friendly teachers, many good and exciting activities such as films, guided tours, grammar courses, parties, etc.”

Film screenings in foreign languages also receive praise – both for their content and their price: “Film days with dialogue are always great – partly because they go beyond the syllabus, and the discussion afterwards provides an opportunity to use the language. And they’re free!”

In fact, you would like even more events: “I would very much like more lectures on, for example, French literature, film, art and society.”

Others also ask for language partner events, and the wish for a “study buddy” comes up repeatedly: “I really like the idea of pairing students from Danish classes with students from Italian classes – what you at one point called ‘tandem’, where two people can practise speaking together at a similar level. It was really great.”

Your wishes are our next steps

The evaluation includes many constructive and valuable suggestions – thank you very much for those! Here are some recurring wishes:

  • “I think it would be a good idea to have the option of adding individual lessons or a small conversation group.”
  • “My biggest challenge is activating spoken language. If something could be offered to facilitate that process, I would be interested.”
  • “More grammar courses, please.”
  • “More courses like the grammar-focused ones you already offer would be very welcome – also specialist courses on pronunciation, intonation, etc.”
  • “More intensive weekend courses, please.”
