"The conversations flow naturally, and time flies"

November 04, 2026

For Tina, learning Italian is about more than grammar and vocabulary. With an Italian partner, the language has become a way to understand a new culture and feel even closer to it. At Studieskolen, she has found a place where learning is both fun and motivating.

Tina is from Germany and now lives in Copenhagen. She has always enjoyed learning languages, and Italian has come to mean something special to her.

"My partner is Italian, so learning Italian also brings me closer to his culture. And I simply think Italian is a beautiful language – both to listen to and to speak," she says.

Everyone joins in the conversations

One of the things Tina particularly appreciates about her Italian classes at Studieskolen is the relaxed atmosphere and the many opportunities to use the language herself.

"The best thing about the classes is how much we talk to each other. The conversations flow naturally, and there are never any awkward silences. Everyone is engaged and contributes, so time flies."

Tina also appreciates that the classes are well organised and that it is easy to keep up, even if you have to miss a class. On Studieskolen's online learning platform, Moodle, students can see what the class has been working on and what homework they have been given.

"It is easy to catch up on what you have missed, so you do not fall behind. I really appreciate that."

A place you enjoy coming to

Tina has been taking Italian classes at Studieskolen for two years and now attends the Conversazione, cultura e grammatica course, which focuses on conversation, culture and grammar.

But it is not just the teaching that keeps her coming back. She also highlights the special atmosphere at the school.

"There is such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at Studieskolen. There are always lots of people around and plenty going on, but at the same time it feels calm and relaxed. Everyone is friendly, and you can tell that people genuinely want to learn. I really enjoy coming here!"

For Tina, Italian has become a way to combine her love of languages with her interest in another culture. And after two years of Italian classes, she is still just as motivated to learn more.

Would you like to learn Italian too?

At Studieskolen, you can learn Italian whether you are a complete beginner or already know quite a bit of the language. We offer classes at different levels, with a focus on helping you use the language actively from the very beginning.

Learn a new language – even if you do not speak Danish

You do not need to speak Danish to learn a new language at Studieskolen. We also offer foreign language classes where English is used as a supporting language. See the options here (LINK).

And once you have learnt the basics, the supporting language becomes much less important. From elementary level onwards, classes are taught almost entirely in the language you are learning. The focus is on speaking as much as possible, and even grammar explanations are usually given in the new language.

This means you can easily continue learning Italian, French, Spanish or another language with us, even if you do not speak Danish.
