Clarify your competencies and the target CV

This course is for you who want concrete tools to focus on your skills, both professional and personal. You may have already experienced that in Denmark, it's not only necessary to talk about your professional skills, i.e., knowledge, abilities, and experience. It is also important - and sometimes even more important - that you are aware of your social and personal skills, i.e., who you are. Together, these tell an employer how you can perform in the job.

Additionally, we focus on how you - based on your professional and personal skills - can create a targeted CV that aligns with your job goals and the requirements specified in the job advertisement. You will receive training on how to make your CV interesting so that an employer can get a sense of who you are from the first page.

What will you learn in the course?

We work methodically with competency clarification, where through concrete individual and small group exercises, you will describe, expand, and nuance your set of professional, social, and personal skills, all tailored to the type of job you are aiming for. We use, among other things, storytelling, which is an extremely useful tool for you, especially in job interviews, where you are expected to tell about specific examples and experiences relevant to the job you are applying for. Participants tell us that the storytelling method we work with is often an aha experience for them, particularly regarding social and personal skills.
 
Based on your professional, social, and personal skills, you will gain knowledge and exercises on how to structure and write a CV, where your profile statement immediately creates interest among employers for you and what you can do and want. You will see examples of different templates you can choose from, so you can independently decide what is important for you to stand out from other applicants and communicate your expertise and personality.

How does the teaching proceed?

The course alternates between:

• Facts from the consulting firm’s recruitment analyses
• Important information that provides you with the necessary knowledge to write a sharp CV
• A series of exercises where you train to clarify and describe your skills as a foundation for formulating a sharp, interesting, and targeted CV

The instructor facilitates all exercises, which take place in small groups where you inspire each other. Each exercise ends with a plenary session, where the instructor ensures experience sharing and feedback across groups.
The course is conducted in English.
