Our knitting club is back – join us for hygge and knittingIf you love to knit – or if you’ve just started – come along for a lovely afternoon of knitting at Studieskolen in Borgergade.

We have needles as well as yarn, but if you’re already working on a knitting project, feel free to bring it with you. You’re also very welcome even if you’ve never knitted before. You’ll get a proper introduction – and hopefully enjoy some pleasant conversation along the way.

Practical informationThe event will be in both Danish and English.
It’s free, but you need to sign up in advance. All Studieskolen’s students are welcome – whether you’re learning Danish or another language.

Time and place:
Friday 23 October, 15:30-17:30
Studieskolen, Borgergade 12
You can see the room number on the screen by the entrance.

Ina Sophia Ring

Ina recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
”Denmark doesn’t have any mountains, and I know that can be disappointing. However, you can still get a little above ground level in Copenhagen – for example at the Zoo on Frederiksberg, which has a tower with a good view, as has the Church of Our Saviour on Christianshavn.
In the more exotic corner, there is also a refuse incineration plant that you can climb on top of – namely Copenhill.”

Do you have a favourite place outside of Copenhagen?
”Outside of Copenhagen, I recommend visiting the Forest Tower (’Skovtårnet’) on southern Zealand or going for a walk among the treetops at Egeskov Castle on Funen.
In the picture, I’m walking through the forest toward the Forest Tower in my snowsuit (‘flyverdragt’), which is wonderful protection against the wet cold of Danish winters.”

Bodil Tvede

Bodil recommends:
What are your favourite places in Copenhagen?
"Assistens Cemetery is one of the beautiful green oases that Copenhagen is so full of. Most people rush through the avenue with the tall poplar trees, but if you have time, you can easily find peace among the graves in the old section.
H.C. Andersen and Kierkegaard are buried here, but you can also look for the pioneer and teacher Charlotte Klein or the Danish stuntwoman Emilie Sannom.
Try also to find Master Fatman's magical gravestone, and bring a book to one of the benches under the old trees.
In the summer months, there are free guided tours, but there are also audio walks and digital guides on kk.dk.

Cinemateket is another inspiring place. It is run by film enthusiasts who ensure that you have the opportunity to see forgotten silent films, films from Lithuania, big films from the 80s, obscure cult films or new documentaries.
Often, there will be presentations by film experts or talks with directors, so you can safely take a chance and be inspired, provoked or pleasantly surprised.
They also have Danish on a Sunday, where they show Danish films with English subtitles.
And as a cinema-goer at Cinemateket, you can request films that you would like to see or rewatch on the big screen."
