We recently expanded our language support team – an energetic group of teachers who cycle all over Copenhagen to teach Danish to social and healthcare (SOSU) students at the city’s many care homes.
Our language support teachers rarely get the chance to see each other during the week. On 5 June (grundlovsdag) there was no teaching, so we used the day as an opportunity to hold a professional development day for all staff.
The day was spent getting to know one another better and sharing experiences, new ideas and initiatives. There were group activities with follow-up presentations and collaborative development work focused on the future. And of course, there was time for lunch and relaxed conversation in our cosy surroundings in Vesterbro.
Professional development is important to us at Studieskolen, and it’s great to see how much value there is in dedicating an entire day to reflection and knowledge-sharing within the teaching team.
Since 2021, Studieskolen has provided language support to social and healthcare (SOSU) students in the City of Copenhagen. In 2025, the task went to public tender for the first time – a tender we won with an impressive score of 7.86 out of 8 possible points for quality.
