Practise oral Danish
This course focuses primarily on developing your oral Danish skills at the A2+ level.
Our teacher speaks both Danish and Icelandic and will help you master the more challenging aspects of Danish pronunciation in a fun and engaging way.
We work with the many sounds of Danish, and among other things we cover:- The Danish "sound alphabet". Which letter corresponds to which sound? For example, a is pronounced differently in the names "Anne" and "Arne", and g is pronounced differently in "bog" (book) and "god" (good).
- The challenging vowels such as æ, ø, and å in "ræv" (fox), "blød" (soft) and "dårlig" (bad/poor).
- The melody of the language, including stress, rhythm and intonation. Do sentences rise or fall?
- We practice and repeat sounds and pronunciation in groups so that correct pronunciation becomes more natural and instinctive.
You will study alongside fellow Icelandic speakers and quickly gain the confidence to start using Danish in your everyday life.
