You might wonder about Danish culture – why do Danes do what they do? Perhaps you experience situations in which misunderstandings occur because of cultural differences. If you would like to learn more about Danish culture as it relates to working in Denmark, then you should join this course, where we zoom in closely on Danish work culture.
You learn how to handle misunderstandings caused by cultural differences, and you learn more about the process of applying for work in Denmark. Towards the end of the course, we focus on your personal job application process, whether you are a fresh graduate or have experience from previous jobs.
Our focus is on helping you work in the most effective way so that you will find a job faster.
We will also take a closer look at job opportunities in different sectors for people like you, i.e. people with a higher education who want to use their skills in a job fitting their qualifications.

What will you learn in this course?

This course gives you knowledge and skills within three fields:

1. The job application process and the Danish job market
You will get a concrete understanding of the job application process in Denmark, from the time a vacancy is announced, through the interview process and to the final decision being made.
You will get acquainted with the Danish model known as ”Flexicurity”, giving you a better understanding of how to act in the Danish job market. You will gain concrete knowledge of what sectors and job opportunities are particularly attractive in Denmark right now.
You will also get tips on starting as a freelancer or launching your own business in Denmark, in case you are looking for an alternative to a regular job.

2. Danish work culture
Using examples and exercises, we will work with an internationally recognised model for cultural understanding and cross-cultural communication. This will make you better able to understand Danish work culture, how to act within it and achieve success.

3. Your personal job-hunting process
We will work on getting you to work effectively on your own job hunt. What does it take for you to get a job faster?
We focus on job goals and how to make them more concrete and specific. You will get coached on working effectively, getting more done in a shorter amount of time. You will also get tips to setting concrete goals for yourself on a weekly basis (and reaching them) and to continually optimising your efforts in the job-hunting process.

How is the class conducted?
