Healthcare Danish is a Danish course focusing on how to communicate with citizens, residents or patients in the healthcare system - in Danish.
Communication is key – especially when you are helping and caring for another person.
With the Healthcare Danish courses, you will improve your ability to communicate in care situations and in other typical conversations with citizens or patients.
The courses are based on real workplace scenarios, allowing you to practise communicating in Danish as a healthcare professional and learn how to guide and motivate citizens and patients in various situations.
These courses are designed for those who work or are looking for a job in the healthcare sector, such as nurses, doctors, care assistants, or social and healthcare assistants. The important thing is that you want to strengthen your Danish language skills in a professional context.
In all our courses, we focus on creating a safe and practical learning environment so that you can apply your new language skills directly in your daily work. After completing Studieskolen's healthcare Danish courses, you will feel even more confident and competent in your role as a healthcare professional.
The courses are for those enrolled in the Danish language programmes at Studieskolen.
Studieskolen offers three courses for healthcare professionals. You must start with course 1. All courses are free of charge.
Course 1 is your introduction to Healthcare Danish. This course equips you with the linguistic tools needed to manage everyday situations as an employee in the healthcare sector. It serves as the first step in Studieskolen’s Healthcare Danish course series and is a necessary starting point if you wish to continue with the subsequent courses.
During the course, we will build your vocabulary, ability to engage in dialogues, and understanding of key expressions used in healthcare work. From introducing yourself and discussing meals to talking about pain and symptoms, we focus on the topics most relevant to your work.

This course builds on Healthcare Danish course 1 and equips you with additional language tools to navigate the daily challenges of working in the healthcare sector.
Course 2 is the second step in Studieskolen’s Healthcare Danish course series and prepares you to progress to course 3.
During this course, you will expand your vocabulary, become more confident in engaging in professional dialogues and learn to use key expressions essential for work in the healthcare sector.

This course builds on Healthcare Danish courses 1 and 2 and is the final step in Studieskolen’s Healthcare Danish series. It is tailored for those ready to take the decisive step towards a healthcare career in Denmark. The course focuses on both job applications and communication in professional and patient-related situations.
You will learn how to write a professional CV and targeted application, as well as how to navigate job interviews with confidence. Additionally, we will enhance your ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, colleagues, and employers.
What will you learn?
The course spans 10 sessions and is divided into the following themes:
The healthcare CV
Learn how to craft a CV that stands out and highlights your skills professionally.
Focus areas: How to write a Danish CV, genre understanding: What characterises a healthcare CV? and layout and structure: How to make your CV clear and well-organised.
The job application
Master the art of writing applications that convince employers. We will explore both motivated applications and emails while analysing job postings.
Focus areas: Language use and fixed expressions. how to write an unsolicited application and how to analyse a job posting.
You will learn to write a professional application, craft a motivated email to employers and understand job posting requirements to tailor your application effectively.
Practical information
The course lasts 10 weeks, with one session per week. The lessons are practice-oriented and focus on realistic scenarios from your daily life as a healthcare professional.

You can enrol in Healthcare Danish if you have a healthcare qualification, work in or are seeking employment within the healthcare sector and are enrolled in the Danish Language Programme at Studieskolen.
