Peter Juncker

Peter recommends:

Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
"I have lived in Copenhagen for many years and experienced its incredible transformation from a worn-out metropolis to a child- and family-friendly city that has been voted several times by international magazines as: the world's best city to live in.

I myself have always had a very special relationship with Christianshavn, with the narrow cobbled streets, the canals and the special village-like atmosphere, where there is room for everyone.

But I also like Frederiksberg Allé, which for me is the closest we get to Paris in Copenhagen. When the sun is shining, there is nothing better for me than taking a stroll with the family up the avenue towards Frederiksberg Have, where it is possible to both enjoy the beautiful nature and the sight of bathing elephants a few metres away. "

Do you have a favorite Danish musician?
"For me, nobody is above Lars H.U.G here in Denmark. I can very warmly recommend exploring his first two albums with the group Kliché and the later solo albums "City Slang", "Kysser himlen farvel and "Blidt over dig", which for me stand as small sparkling diamonds in Danish cultural history.
All the records take place in a very special, artistically ambitious universe that is both eccentric, poetic and deeply personal.
But at the same time, we are also just talking about really good pop music, which is lifted in a unique way by H.U.G.'s fantastic and unique vocals."

Iben Rasmussen

Iben recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in or outside of Copenhagen?
”One of my favourite places in Copenhagen is the top of Amager Bakke. From here, there is a fabulous view over Øresund, Saltholm and Amager Strand to one side, and to the other side the green area around Christiania, all the city’s towers and much more. If you want to get outside of Copenhagen for a while, you can go for a lovely walk following the river Mølleåen from Lyngby Station to Skodsborg Station – using public transport at the beginning and the end of the walk makes it easy to do without a car.”

Can you recommend a Danish novel?
”If you want to read a book that describes a meeting of cultures within Denmark’s borders, it could be Stine Pilgaard’s ’Meter i sekundet’. Some of the things she describes in the book is what it’s like moving to a new place and trying to build new friendships. She also pokes fun at the Danish højskole culture and writes new lyrics to a couple of classic højskole songs.”
