Danish humour - talk and debate

July 31, 2024

A lecture on Danish humour from the Middle Ages to the present day.

Our own teacher, Marie Hougaard Jakobsen, reviews the history of Danish satire. She starts from humour in medieval marketplaces and goes further up through time to the satire after the introduction of the constitution and freedom of speech - to what we know today.

Based on current examples, we talk about what Danish humour is today, and how is it experienced from the perspective of a foreigner.

The talk is in English.

Time and place:
Wednesday 31 July 13:30 - 15:30
at Studieskolen, Borgergade 12, 1st floor

It's free and you don't need to register.
