Caroline Krabbe Melchior

We have asked our teachers to recommend a place, some Danish music or a Danish artist. Or something else. This is what Caroline recommends.

"Go exploring - whether it's in a new city or in a new language.

I like to cycle around Copenhagen and feel the difference between seasons and neighbourhoods. And yes, it often rains in Denmark, which is why I have invested in a 'national suit' (=rainwear).

For me, exploring a language is about listening, paying attention to new sounds and words and relating them to something I already know. That's why the number '40' sounds like 'beurre' in French to me. Or the number '80' can sound like 'fierce' (the fierce 80s) in English. I like that kind of linguistic attention across languages."
