Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
”One favourite place is the music venue Vega on Vesterbro. I have heard many good concerts there with bands such as the White Stripes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Big Thief. I even performed there once myself. Both of Vega’s two concert rooms have fantastic sound and good visibility, and the architecture and interiors reflect the best parts of Danish design traditions. A beautiful place in every sense.”
Who is your favourite Danish writer?
”I warmly recommend Johannes V. Jensen’s novel ’Kongens Fald’ from 1901. It is a book that is vital, bristly, in many ways very bleak and over-the-top, but nevertheless still an excellent entry point to understanding Danish mentality.”
