Mere dansk grammatik

Jamal Joudeh

Jamal recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?
”My favourite place in Copenhagen is definitely Nørrebro, it offers diversity and a pulsating city life. Another lovely place in the world is Torino – the city of magic. The café Albicerin is one of my favourite places in the city.”

Who’s your favourite writer?
”I have lots of favourite writers, including Danish writers such as Kim Leine and Martin Andersen Nexø, but also Gabriel García Márquez, Joseph Conrad, Umberto Eco, Naguib Mahfouz etc.”

Christina Gudmand

Christina recommends:

Do you have a favourite place in Copenhagen?

”To me, Copenhagen is history, atmosphere and water. The Latin Quarter around Vestergade, Studiestræde, Larsbjørnsstræde, Teglgårdsstræde and Sankt Peders Stræde is a colourful and historic quarter. A place where you can take a stroll, feel the atmosphere and the presence of history or visit one of the area’s many second-hand and vintage shops. From there, it’s a short walk to Frue Plads – past Copenhagen University, where Søren Kierkegaard lectured and spent his days from 1831 til 1840. The square is a lovely place to dwell in the summer, sitting on one of the benches with a cup of coffee. If it’s too cold, you can just go round the corner of Fiolstræde and enjoy a good cup of coffee or lunch at Paludans Bogcafé, one of my favourite cafés in central Copenhagen.

I very much enjoy sitting on Søren Kierkegaards Plads by the Black Diamond on a warm summer’s day, reading a good book or simply enjoying the view of Christianshavn on the other side of the water. Or even just observing life in the canal, with boats and kayaks of all shapes and sizes filling the waters with life and fun. Copenhagen also has lots of green areas for when I am looking for more calm. I live on Amager and I am very fond of taking a walk on Amager Common, in summer as well as winter. It is the most wonderful oasis in the middle of the city, full of lovely nature, lakes and birds. Amager is also home to Amager Strandpark, if you’re looking for a little sand between your toes.”
