Highlights in recent Danish history - excursion to the National Museum
We will meet at the National Museum, Nationalmuseet, where we will take a tour of the exhibition "Danmarkshistorier (1660-2000)", which reviews highlights of Danish history from absolutism to the present day.
We will follow the most important cultural traces that have shaped the country into the Denmark it is today.

You can go alone or in groups, and on your way through the exhibition you must answer a quiz.

It is our own Danish teacher Maria-Sophie Schmidt who will take you to the museum. She will speak both Danish and English on the trip.

It takes place:
Wednesday 30 July from 13.30-16.00
Meeting place: Studieskolen's main entrance, Borgergade 12

Please note that this event is exclusively for our students who have paid for an intensive summer course at Privatdansk/Private Danish.

Maria-Sophie recommends:
Do you have a favourite place in or outside of Copenhagen?

“Yes, I do. I absolutely love Vesterbro Cemetery in the heart of Copenhagen. It is so peaceful and beautiful to walk there - at any time of the year.
It’s a hidden gem in the midst of the city’s hustle and bustle - full of history and little secret nooks in nature.
I often explore the old gravestones of prime ministers, authors, and painters. My favourite Danish painter, Vilhelm Hammershøi, is also buried there.
But don’t tell anyone, because I would like to keep this place a secret between us.”
