Photo identification requirements at tests

You must provide valid photo ID at Medborgerskabsprøven and Indfødsretsprøven.

You must remember to bring the correct form of identification on the day of the exam. If you cannot present proper identification, you will not be allowed to take the exam.

You must bring the ORIGINAL identification. You cannot use a copy or a photo on a mobile phone or similar device.

Make sure well in advance that all information on your identification is clearly legible, and that the photo clearly resembles you.

Please note that a driving licence CANNOT be used as identification.

Valid forms of identification are:

1. Residence card (’opholdskort’), alien’s passport (’fremmedpas’) or convention passport (’konventionspas’) issued by a public authority in Denmark.

2. Passport or identity card issued by a public authority in another EU/EEA member country or in Switzerland.

3. Passport issued by a public authority in another country than those mentioned above in which a residence sticker has been inserted.

Other forms of ID

If you do not have one of the mentioned forms of identification, you can apply to the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI) for permission to use another form of ID at the test.

SIRI cannot grant permission to use a driving licence as identification.

Applications can be submitted via Digital Post (e.g., from e-Boks, mit.dk, borger.dk or via the Digital Post app). Select Styrelsen for International Rekruttering og Integration as the recipient. In the subject field, you should write "Att.: vidensproever@siri.dk".

SIRI must receive your application for permission to use alternative identification no later than four weeks before the test date.

When you receive a reply on your application, you must forward the reply to Studieskolen at info@studieskolen.dk.

If you are granted permission, you must bring both the permission letter and the approved alternative identification to the test.

For more information, visit danskogproever.dk or ask Studieskolen for assistance.

If you do not have access to your identification

If your identification is currently held by, for example, the Danish Immigration Service due to ongoing case processing, you are responsible for asking the Danish Immigration Service to either return the ID to you or provide a certified copy of it. A certified copy can only be used if you have received permission from SIRI (see above).

It is your own responsibility to make sure that you bring the correct identification on the day of the test.

CHECKLIST BEFORE THE TEST

  • In plenty of time before the test, make sure that you have the necessary identification (so that you can arrange to get the correct ID if you don’t already have it).
  • If you are in doubt as to whether you have the correct identification, ask at Studieskolen in plenty of time before the test.
  • Remember to bring your identification with you on the day of the test!
