Are you visiting Italy soon? Join our class in English and learn a little Italian before you goWould you like to learn some Italian, perhaps before a trip to Italy? This course is for you if you do not know Italian at all and you don't speak Danish. We promise you that your trip will be more fun if you speak even just a little Italian. Italians are always very happy when you try to meet them in their own language.
Buongiorno, signora! In this course, you learn the essentials so that you can talk to Italians in typical situations that you meet in Italy, for example when you are visiting as a tourist. For example, you learn to say phrases like good morning buongiorno and good night buona sera in different ways – depending on what time of day you meet the local Italians and how polite you want to be.
You will also learn to:
- Introduce yourself – where do you come from and what do you do for work?
- Ask others about themselves
- Start a short informal conversation
- Order at a bar or restaurant
- Talk about the food you like
In class, you practise the most frequent expressions and sentences that you can use in different situations on your travels in Italy. We talk also about some beautiful places in Italy that you maybe don't know yet, for example le Cinque Terre.
We will also compare the Italian way of living to other cultures: For example, do Italians kiss each other when they greet? Is that common also in other cultures – what about yours?
Not least, you will learn the numbers and the basics of Italian grammar. But don't worry – our focus is to talk as much as possible and to learn to pronounce words correctly. You practise grammar in relevant situations and with different activities, such as conversations, role-plays and small dialogues based on a variety of things such as pictures, texts, video clips and audio files. The book that we use on the course, Nuovo espresso plus 1, also offers some games that you can access through your smartphone. In this way, you keep learning Italian in fun and new ways, and it all helps you to learn to speak Italian as fast as possible.
