Have more conversations with ItaliansIf you've completed the A1 level and want to continue learning Italian in a dynamic and active way, this course is for you. As always, our focus is on helping you learn to speak Italian, and now you can practise talking about many more topics, so your conversations in Italy will be even more enjoyable.
You can already have simple conversations in situations you encounter as a tourist. Now you can expand the range of topics you can discuss, so you can get to know Italians and their culture better.
You will get better at speaking Italian, for example when you want to
- talk about what's happened to you or others
- describe an object and its appearance
- talk about your life, where you have lived, gone to school and much more
- shop in various shops in Italy
You will learn new vocabulary to help you when you talk about a wide range of topics. For example, you learn lots of words about clothes – what do you wear for different occasions?
You pick up on nuances when describing things: How do you say that something is more beautiful than something else, perhaps the most beautiful of all?
In this course you will also learn Italians and their culture even better. We will talk about some beautiful places in Italy that you maybe don't know yet, for example the beautiful city of Bologna, famous for its delightful food and historical university. We also compare the Italian way of living with other cultures: Among other things, you will learn the meaning of the different colours in Italy. For example, what is the colour for love? Is it the same where you come from?
In class, you are active in a variety of ways that help you learn Italian even better. We use the new textbook Nuovo espresso plus 2, which places a special focus on authentic Italian and includes lots of useful activities. We watch funny videos, do listening exercises, play games and discuss various aspects of the Italian way of thinking and living. The book offers also some games that you can access through your smartphone, so you get activated in many ways and learning will be even more fun. In this way you will learn to speak Italian as fast as possible.
Mafia, amore e poliziaWe will also read the first part of an easy reader in Italian about a young German musician, Hans, and Francesca, an Italian journalist. Some dramatic events unfold: A bomb destroys the great Museo degli Uffizi in Florence and the mafia is killing people in Naples. But then the police get on the case! Despite the intense topic, it is a fun and easy-to-read book, and you will learn many new words and expressions from it.
You become good at speaking – and the grammar helps youOn Studieskolen's courses, our primary focus is always on ensuring you really become good at speaking the language and learn to pronounce the words in melodious Italian. But we also go through various grammar points that help you speak Italian with greater nuance. For example, we cover the imperative, which is useful when you want to give informal advice.
You will also learn to talk more accurately about something that happened in the past, as you will be introduced to imperfetto. When you know imperfetto you will be able to talk about something you used to do in the past, for example when you were a child.
