Learn more Italian
Do you know a little bit of Italian, perhaps from a previous course or trip to Italy, and do you want to learn more? And do you prefer a course that is taught in English? Then this is the course for you! You can join this course if you can introduce yourself in easy Italian and say simple sentences about specific topics - e.g. you can order something at the bar and describe the place where you live.
Ciao, come ti chiami?
You can already talk about yourself and other people, for example about your job or the city you live in. You can also order a drink at a bar.
Now you will learn to talk about more topics, such as:
- What you do in your daily life
- How you spend your freetime
- The things you like and dislike doing
- How your last holiday was and what you did
- The weather - how do you say 'the sun is shining' and 'it 's raining' in Italian?
In class, we practise different situations you might experience on your travels, so that you know what to say when you need tourist information. You will also learn how to describe your family and to arrange an evening out with friends.
Perhaps you want to describe important days, holidays and traditions? We will talk about those too.
Not least, you will keep on learning the foundations of Italian grammar. Among other things, you will learn present perfect, so you can talk about things that happened in the past, and possessives such as 'my' and 'your'.
You will speak a lot of Italian
The course is designed to encourage you to talk as much as possible and learn to pronounce words correctly. To make you speak Italian as fast as possible, your teacher will be speaking Italian a lot. But he will explain grammar and other things in English.
You and your fellow students will practise and develop your Italian through role-plays and exercises which strengthen your ability to have a conversation. Discussions will be based on a variety of things such as pictures, texts, video clips and audio files.
